Survey/Infographic

I plan to accomplish this survey/infographic project with using the impact social media can have on personal stress as a subject. First, I will need to figure out what kind of questions to use covering certain information in particular. The information that I will be covering will go hand-in-hand with how often, or long, people are using digital media and if they feel anxiety or depressed at times to see if there is a correlation. I am looking forward to this project and am very interested to see how the results will turn out.

Mind Tools

There are many different technologies, in which are beneficial, that are used for multiple reasons. These new technologies helps broaden our knowledge, power, and even senses. In some ways, we are enabled to reshape nature. Overall, I think intellectual technologies help create new ways of thinking. For an example, problem solving would definitely change by using tools like the internet.

The internet plays a huge role in technology and is very useful for learning new knowledge. The online network is great for meeting connections and sharing information as well, which helps strengthen critical thinking.

 

Critical thinking plays a big part for attaining new information. There are multiple factors that affect a persons critical thinking though such as clarity, accuracy, precision, relevance, depth, breadth, logic, and fairness. These factors are very important and each play a key role, all of which you can seek, and find, by using the internet.

 

 

Research Project progress report

The topic I had chose for my research project, the impact social media can have on personal stress, interests me because I feel as if people are affected by social media in a negative way without even realizing it. Also, I feel as if digital media distracts people from having real-world experiences, as well as one on one connections.  So far, the research process is going very well. I am learning that social media can have negative effects such as causing anxiety and depression. Finding information about this subject is going well, but it can be difficult at times finding the right information you need at times. Overall, I feel as if it is going very well.

Research Topic

I plan to accomplish this research project by finding an interesting topic that is relatable to social media. My initial ideas are to use a topic where it opens up others' minds and to use social media less often. I feel as if some people are too distracted with the internet and are missing out on their own lives' experiences. I am feeling confident about this project and I already have a topic to use in mind.

Since I have created my professional twitter account, I have followed several professional organizations including chemists. My future occupation is related to this because I am currently enrolled to major in biochemistry. I hope to gain knowledge and insight from following these organizations and people.

Here are a few organizations that I have been currently following; @ChemistryWorld, @NatureChemistry, @ACSGCI, @AmerChemSociety, and @AmChemistry. From following these organizations along with other professionals, I hope to gain more knowledge and insight about chemistry. This will help benefit me as well since it is relatable to my future career.

Wisdom with Google

Google is a very popular search engine that I use almost everyday. People are able to access new information and content through the web using google. I believe internet searching has definitely changed our lives since the past two decades (20 years). Many people rely on google too much where they lack to find an answer on their own rather than easily looking it up. This can affect their wisdom and problem solving skills. Of course, it can be easier to just google a question rather than solving it the hard way. I feel as if using google can be both beneficial as well as unhelpful at the same time.

Twitter

I plan to accomplish this project by creating a professional twitter account. I will be following professional organizations that tie along with my major, Biochemistry, as well as other professionals. My initial idea for this project is that it will help create a network for future opportunities, such as jobs, for myself. Twitter is a great way to find new information as well as to connect with others. Also, you can look for a specific topic if needed. I feel as if this project will be easy and will go well. I have used twitter in the past so this should not be difficult.
